When the teachers at my job talk about their schedules, they say, "I have a student at noon," or "I had Fred today." So today I had my first lesson with a new student. An eight year old boy, a total angel. Great, great kid. Came out of that lesson in the best mood, grinning from ear to ear. I strolled out of the Center and bumped into a distant acquaintance who doesn't know what I do for a living. "You look happy," she said. "Yeah," I said. "I just had an eight year old boy, and it was awesome." She was halfway down the block by the time I figured out what she'd thought I meant.
