16 December 2002: Tsuki Kote Gaeshi

Three in the morning. Why am I awake?

If I knew the answer to that, I'd be content enough to go to sleep.

Twelve hours ago Dragon Lady took her 6th kyu (orange belt) test.  She was fabulous.  Her freestyle, which was great, consisted of a single technique performed over and over.  The technique, tsuki kote gaeshi, was the same single technique that I performed over and over on my own 6th kyu freestyle, 20 years ago this month.

Did I mention I love her?

After the test, some adorable little kids came and watched the advanced class.  They cheered a lot.  One of them, after watching me intently for a while as I coached Merlin on her rolls while flinging her repeatedly across the room, said to me, "Your eyes are like my chess teacher's eyes."

Lexicat's housewarming party was a blast.  And Stagewalker was there.  I hadn't seen him for a long time, and had sorely missed him.  But he will be at the New Year's Bone Council, and at Aleph's party.  And he assures me that his journal will be back up soon.  Happy!

New portrait in the Art Gallery of Moonspice, the world's coolest ex-wife.
