This morning I finished the last of my school projects for this semester. I'd expected to be at it all afternoon (took the day off from work to make sure I had time to finish it), so I've used the unexpected windfall of free time to do some updates to this site. A new haiku up ("Old Days," my first in a while), an update to the bio page (that's the one entitled "Kaa"), and the three other tarot cards I promised you (the Two of Swords, the Devil, and the Hierophant), which are, I think, the best work I've done yet. I'm not taking any classes this summer because Vista's not offering any good ones. I plan to see my friends more, and do some writing. Next semester I'm going to be a real student - I've decided to get my General Education requirements out of the way, so instead of art classes I'll be doing that academical-type stuff that most people do in school. Math and whatnot. Writing papers. I don't know that I would have found school so fun if I'd gone in my early twenties like so many people I know. Sure is fun now, though. I remember remarking some time ago that the skills required of a student aren't much different those required of an acidhead. Now I'm also finding that school appeals to the gamer geek in me. The process of choosing which classes to register for is much like the process of filling out a character sheet. When I was updating the bio section, I decided to change the phrase "The most important thing in my life is..." to "The most important thing in my life (next to God, of course) is..." because it suddenly occurred to me that for some of my readers - even some of those I love most dearly - the "next to God" part does not go without saying. A shame, that. Now I'm going to go eat lunch.
