A lot happened last week, and I'm in the process of writing a very long entry about it. But I'm having trouble getting it finished, because this week is also a busy one: I'm done with school until late August, but Dragon Lady still has ten days to go before she graduates from her postgraduate fellowship program ("Mover and Shaker Boot Camp" is how I've come to think of it), and I'm helping her with her work. Her final project involves helping a volunteer organization broaden its appeal, and as part of this project she's completely redoing their website. Since Dragon Lady came into this project knowing nothing about web design or the related technology, what this means is that she's the one deciding what the site should look like, and I'm the one making it happen (it wasn't a case of her biting off more than she could chew and me bailing her out; months ago, when she first wrote up the project proposal, she asked me if I'd be able to work on it with her this week. I guess that's part of how people who can get stuff done do it. I find competence so sexy...). This is our first real collaboration, and it's going quite well. We'll be finishing Thursday, after which I'll have time to get back to my own projects again. Meanwhile, though, I just popped in to mention that there's now something in the Toons section besides the words "coming soon." My final project for this semester's Flash class is up: a dozen of my haiku enhanced with graphics and sound effects. Some of the graphics even move a little! Must have Flash Player 5 or better to play. Offer void where prohibited. Final episode of Buffy tonight. My bet: Buffy, Kennedy, and Andrew all survive; Anya dies. I guess I'm posting this a little late to get many takers, but at least if I'm right, I'll look cool. In an incredibly uncool and geeky kind of way, I mean.
