| 2 June 2003: Acting |

Dragon Lady graduated from the Coro Fellowship program. Now, in addition to putting MSW and LCSW after her name, she gets to put MS, for Mover and Shaker. Praise Dragon Lady! Wahoo! The Director of the learning center I work at quit. Thursday was her last day. She gave a month-and-a-half of notice, to make sure that our notoriously inept corporate masters had time to find a new Director. Our notoriously inept corporate masters lived up to their bad name by failing to do so much as put out a Help Wanted ad. At the last minute, they begged Wolf Gal to take on the job of Acting Director until a permanent Director is found. Wolf Gal agreed to be Acting Director for a very limited period of time. She then immediately left for a week-long vacation, leaving me as the most senior person at the Center. So all this week, as I do the Director's job of discussing our program with parents, teachers, and learning specialists, I get to introduce myself as the "Acting Acting Director." Contrary to numerous accusations, I can put professionalism before my sense of humor. It's just that no one's ever given me a good enough reason.
