26 April 2004: Pale Turquoise Spaces

you are paleturquoise
#AFEEEE

Your dominant hues are green and blue. You're smart and you know it, and want to use your power to help people and relate to others. Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you solve other people's conflicts well.

Your saturation level is low - You stay out of stressful situations and advise others to do the same. You may not be the go-to person when something really needs done, but you know never to blow things out of proportion.

Your outlook on life is bright. You see good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it frustrates you to see them get down on everything.

the spacefem.com html color quiz

I don't usually bother with these trendy internet quizzes, much less post the results in this journal, but this one is pretty well-designed. My results are impressively accurate, and I even like the color. Lexicat's results (Deep Pink) also impressed me with their accuracy and chromatic appropriateness.

Argus' Argawarga site, featuring excerpts from his work-in-progress, is up and running. I added it to the Tribe page a couple of weeks ago, but forgot to announce it here.

Other recent online excellence: out in the Corridor of Madness, Mindwarp's review of Hellboy turns into an inspired and insightful rant against those who fear genuine personal empowerment, demonize the heroically autonomous, and encourage the acceptance of mediocrity.

Sherpa wrote in response to my last entry, to say that Studio Rasa was also where he's been hoping to hold the next paratheatrical lab this Fall.

Did dinner Saturday night with Gemrise and Dragon Lady; Last night went into SF to hang with Finder, Stray, and Alaska and discuss future Work. A ritual project is taking shape: ten weekly sessions, one devoted to each sephira.

I'm thinking that the aikido classes at Studio Rasa are going to be very different from any classes I've taught before. For one thing, I'm just not interested in redoing what I've already done. But also, the space itself calls for a different approach... partly because there are no mats, which means throwing gently and placing a lot of focus on getting everyone's rolls very smooth and precise... but also just because the vibe is different. The aesthetic of the space calls for a different aesthetic of practice. It's not enough to just harmonize with one's practice partners. One must also act in harmony with the space in which one's practice takes place.

And with the spaces

in which one's life takes place.
