| 31 December 2004: Sealed by Fire |

The Songs as Vehicles performance went beautifully. Afterward, the ten of us all came back out onto the floor. Instead of bowing, we sat down in a big circle, just like we usually do a the end of a paratheatrical lab session, and took questions from the audience. Nicky's Law of Council: Any group activity worth doing should at some point involve everyone sitting together in a circle. Dragon Lady came to the performance, and Finder and Stray, and Rebis, and Paradox. Some of the people who've been most important to me in the past year (along with those who were in the performance). Some of them, and others who are dear to me, will be at the party at Laramie's tonight, or at Bone Council, or both. A week ago, the Song as Vehicle lab crew gathered at Sherpa and Syrinx's home, for a celebratory closing dinner and a fire ritual in which we burned the things that we were ready to let go of as we moved into the new year. I made my New Year's Resolutions there, and they were witnessed and sealed by fire, so I feel no need to repeat them here. You'll see. Oz plans to initiate the same sort of fire ritual at Laramie's party. Already, new traditions are forming, as my new friends and my remaining old friends (the local ones, anyway) begin to discover one another. Oz is one of those new friends, and not the only one, who's been very important to me this past year but who I don't think I ever got around to mentioning in a journal entry. until now, I mean.
Me
as the Magus in
Ace, I still have that list of questions that you sent me in response to my Autism entries; I do plan to answer them here in the new year. And I've got an interesting email correspondence brewing with my Dad, Old Cutter John hisself, which will be reprinted in this journal eventually. Ditto with the recently-begun correspondence with Rhiannon, the continuing correspondence with Lila, and a possible future correspondence with the Saint. The next paratheatrical lab starts around the Spring Equinox. A short one, eight Monday nights. I might write about that here, too. The Spring semester starts in two weeks. The busiest one yet, and I expect that much writing will be involved. Some of it might end up here. Aside from all of that, given all the other stuff I'm planning on doing, journal entries might be few and far between in the coming year. But do check in; sometimes things happen.
