27 June 2005: Art History

The assignment, from my thoroughly delightful Art History teacher:

"Based on Australian Aboriginal art, create a map that traces the routes you and your ancestors have traveled to bring you here."

Actual size: 9"x12".

Medium: black Sharpie and a cheap set of Crayola markers.

Time to create: 3.5 hours, including a few very pleasant extended periods of rocking back and forth Autistically when the act of sitting on the floor drawing with markers triggered a regression to early childhood consciousness.

Soundtrack: Tom Waits' Blood Money and Nick Cave and the Bad Seed's Let Love In.

I turn 37 this coming Sunday. I look a lot younger. This journal turns three today. I'm not sure how old it looks.
