RESEARCH
Research is one of my favorite words. I've found that it's the most simple and truthful answer to any request for an explanation of my behavior:
• Why do you practice aikido?
• Why do you read that awful stuff?
• Why would you go and do such a stupid thing?
• What do you need a pound and a half of bright green Play-Doh for?
• What the hell are you doing in my house?
My all-time favorite phrase is "The subject merits further research." This is the best answer to any question that can't simply be answered by the word "research":
• Is there life on other planets?
• How can I find inner peace and true happiness?
• What's for dinner?
• How the hell do I get out of here?
• Do you have any idea how much trouble this could get you into?
• Just how stupid do you think I am?
My online journal is entitled Further Research. (If you click on this link it will open a new window to Further Research. This is the only link in this entire labyrinthine lexicon that leads to somewhere outside of the labyrinth - it leads you out into the rest of my website, which is an even larger labyrinth, and which has many links that lead out into the rest of the World Wide Web, which is a much, much larger labyrinth.)
